Remington Medical is introducing virucidal, bactericidal and fungicidal hand
disinfectant - Manorapid Synergy DIN:
02248224
After extensive testing of Manorapid Synergy
against a broad range of enveloped and
non-enveloped viruses, Health Canada determined
it to be effective against a wide variety of
hand transmitted viruses. These among others
include: Hepatitis A virus, Norwalk like viruses
and Corona viruses. There is no other product on
the market today, which can make this claim.
The Manorapid Synergy was specifically
developed to inactivate viruses that can be
transferred via hand contact with infected
patients or contaminated surfaces. The
formulation of Manorapid Synergy is based
on synergistically active combination of short
chain aliphatic alcohols.
The reason for the development of this product
was a high demand for the skin compatible
antiseptic, used for the hygienic hand
disinfection that combines a strong virucidal
activity, with short contact time and the flash
point in excess of 21.5ºC.
Manorapid Synergy fulfills the above
requirements and presents a spectrum of
efficacy, that is unequalled by any other
product.
Manorapid Synergy has been tested and found
effective against the following viruses:
Polio I, Rhinoviruses, Hepatitis A virus,
Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C virus, Norwalk like
viruses, Adenoviruses, Rotaviruses, Human
Papillomaviruses, Simian virus 40, Influenza
type A and B, Respiratory Syncitial virus,
Vaccinia virus, Corona viruses, Herpes Simplex
type I and II and Avian Influenza A virus.
Until present time, the best virucidal alcohol
based hand disinfectants contained high
concentrations of Ethanol, but even
concentrations of 80% by volume, could not
effectively inactivate the Hepatitis A virus and
Norwalk like viruses in short time of
application. Products with concentration of
Ethanol in excess of 90% by volume, lead to
increased cytotoxicity and resulted in lowering
of the flash point to less than 15ºC, making the
products difficult to ship and store.
Manorapid Synergy uses a combination of
several alcohols resulting in a flash point of
21.5°C which makes it safer for storage and
shipping.
Efficacy of Manorapid Synergy:
Manorapid Synergy was tested, according to
the EN 14476, which represents in-vitro
Quantitative Suspension test with the contact
time of 30 seconds.
In all of the above tests, Manorapid Synergy
achieved a minimum of 99.99% efficacy in 30
seconds of contact time.
Manorapid Synergy was also tested under
practical conditions of use on hands of
volunteers using ASTM Test E-1838-02 against
Polio I virus and Feline Calici virus, surrogate
for Norwalk like viruses. In both test results
Manorapid Synergy achieved 99.9%- 99.3%
inactivation in 30 seconds of contact time.
Manorapid Synergy is also a powerful
antibacterial and antifungal product. Tests
performed according to the European Standard
method EN-1500 under practical conditions on
hands of volunteers on a variety of bacteria and
fungi, show more than 99.99% effectiveness for
30 second time of contact.
Manorapid Synergy was tested for
suitability in surgical hand disinfection, in
3-minute time of application, as per EN 12791,
against the reference procedure (1-Propanol 60%
V/V) and proved to have equal efficacy as the
reference method.
Manorapid Synergy has excellent skin
compatibility and does not elicit allergic
reactions nor induces bacterial resistance. Due
to the presence of emollients in the
formulation, it does not dry the skin, but
actually improves its condition. Manorapid
Synergy is indicated for hygienic and surgical
hand disinfection. |
