Technical Specs

• Dual channel: individually isolated circuits.
•Amplitude: 0 -80 mA into 500 Ohm load; indication only. Actual mA will tend to be less than indicated due to electrode impedance: at 1000 Ohms load (Electrodes in poor condition) the maximum will be limited to 70 mA, at 1500 Ohms load the maximum will be limited to 65 mA.
• Type: Constant Current, maximum output voltage 180 Volts +10 / -30 Volts
• Waveform: Asymmetrical, rectangular bi-phasic with zero DC current.
• Selectable pulse width: 50mS -300mS [2% accuracy].
• Pulse Rate selection: in the continuous mode 2 Hz – 200 Hz [2% accuracy].
• Mode: Continuous, Burst or Modulated.
• Burst mode: Bursts of 9 pulses [200 mS] at 150 Hz, repeating twice every second.
• Modulation mode: 6-second cycle of concurrent width modulation and pulse repetition rate modulation. Width starting at 200 mS and decreasing exponentially to 100 mS in three seconds and then returning back to 200 mS in the next three seconds. Rate starting at 100 Hz, decreasing exponentially to 65 Hz and then returning to 100 Hz.
• Time duration of the treatment selectable: 1 minute to 12 hours.
• Low Battery Indicator: If the battery goes below 6.9 volts +/- 0.2 volts the battery symbol will flash on/off once every second.
• If the battery voltage is below 6.6 (+/- 0.2) volts the unit will not turn on.
• Open Electrode Detect: If an open circuit is detected at the output of channel A or B the output current will be reset at zero.

FAQ
What is a TENS machine?
A TENS machine, or Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, is a portable electronic device used for pain management and relief. It delivers low-voltage electrical currents through electrode pads placed on the skin.
How does a TENS machine work?
TENS machines work by sending electrical impulses to the nerves, blocking pain signals from reaching the brain. This stimulation also triggers the release of endorphins, providing temporary pain relief.
What conditions can TENS machines help with?
TENS machines effectively alleviate acute and chronic pain, including back pain, arthritis, muscle soreness, neuropathy, and post-surgical pain. Even units such as the Neurotrac Obstetric are also used during labor pain.
What type of electrodes can I use with the Neurotrac tens?
High quality electrodes is important to ensure treatment quality and safety. Electrodes with high impedance or poor adherence may result in injury. Remingtons Remarkable Electrode (HYPERLINK) is a premium quality electrode with low impedance, silver oxide technology and a premium hydgogel to ensure uniform coverage and comfortable treatments, and multiple uses.
What is the Difference Between TENS and NMES?
TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) and NMES (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) are both electrical stimulation therapies, but they serve different purposes. TENS is primarily used for pain management. It involves sending low-voltage electrical currents to the nerves through electrode pads placed on the skin. The goal is to block pain signals and provide temporary pain relief. NMES, on the other hand, focuses on muscle stimulation and rehabilitation. It delivers electrical impulses to the muscles to promote muscle contractions and strength. NMES is commonly used in physical therapy and sports medicine to help with muscle re-education, muscle strengthening, and preventing muscle atrophy. In short, TENS is for pain management, while NMES is for muscle stimulation and rehabilitation.
Can I use a TENS machine alongside other treatments?
Yes, TENS machines can be used in conjunction with other pain management treatments like medication, physical therapy, and exercise. Discuss integrating TENS therapy into your pain management plan with your healthcare provider.
Can anyone use a TENS machine?
TENS machines are generally safe, but individuals with pacemakers, implanted devices, epilepsy, or who are pregnant should avoid using them without healthcare professional approval.
What is the highest amplitude the Neurotrac TENS can go to?
0-80 mA
What type of waveform does the Neurotrac TENS use?
Asymetrical, rectangular bi-phasic (No DC Current)
What is the pulse rate range with the Neurotrac TENS?
50 mS – 300 mS
When ramping up the intensity, it goes keeps going back down to zero and the treatment stops?
This is a built in safety mechanism when the Neurotrac TENS detects poor connection. Attach brand new electrodes to the leadwires and check to see if the intensity can be increased. If this fails, it could be the leadwire. To test the leadwire, have it connected into the unit, do not connect any electrodes to the pin ends. Touch the two pin ends together and now ramp up the intensity. IF the intensity ramps up and holds, you will need to replace the leadwire (InSERT link). IF the unit still ramps back down to zero, it is most likely a failed leadwire. The unit contains 2 wires so please try the 2nd wire into the unit. IF the test above fails with Both units, please go to our service section to fill out a service report.
