Rolyan Watercolors Solid Thermoplastic Splinting Material, 18″ x 24″ x 1/8″ (Cs/4)

Watercolors™ is identical to Aquaplast-T™ but is offered in a variety of bright and metallic colors to improve patient compliance. As part of the Aquaplast family, Watercolors features a balance of conformability with a moderate resistance to stretch, giving clinicians more control over how much the material stretches during splint fabrication. With 100% memory, the material “remembers” its original shape when reheated and returns to it, allowing for repeated reheating and reshaping for splint revisions. It is also the only material family that becomes translucent when heated, helping the clinician identify landmarks for positioning and pressure points to provide maximum comfort for the patient.

Key Material Benefits

Rolyan Aquaplast Splinting Material is great for a wide range of supportive needs with 100 percent memory that allows clinicians to form the perfect-fitting splint. The versatile thermoplastic sheets “remember” their original shape when reheated and return to it after reshaping for splint revisions. Bright and metallic colors of Aquaplast Watercolors fit the patient’s lifestyle and increase patient confidence.

Easily Conform for Patient Needs

The moderate drape of Aquaplast Watercolors means the material conforms to the affected area with minimal force and only moderate pressure is needed for a controlled stretch. A temporary bond can be created by pinching together the heated material, however, it will come apart when cooled. To form a permanent bond, scrub off or remove the coating with a bond solvent.

Physical Attributes

The vibrant watercolors of Rolyan Aquaplast-T are available in 1/8″ (3.2 mm), 1/16″ (1.6 mm), and 3/32″ (2.4 mm) sheet thicknesses with solid material options. When heated, the material turns translucent and the smooth splinting thermoplastic leaves no unwanted fingerprints or markings. The rigidity of 59.2 kpsi* means the hardened splint retains its shape without reinforcement.

Care & Cleaning

Store at temperatures between 40° and 90°F (4° and 32°C) and less than 65 percent relative humidity. Avoid prolonged exposure to light, especially ultraviolet. Avoid exposure to corrosive and ethylene oxide fumes.

Formed splints will lose their shape in temperatures over 135°F(57°C) and should be kept away from sources of heat such as ovens, hot water, and car windows.

Clean splint with soap and lukewarm water. Allow splint and straps to dry thoroughly before reapplication.
