Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT®)
Acoustic waves are used with great success in pain therapy for the treatment of enthesopathies. Recent studies have shown that acoustic waves produce biological effects that can both stimulate metabolic processes and improve connective tissue elasticity. The non-medical fields of application of radial AWT® include the treatment of cellulite, facial wrinkles, striae/stretch marks and other conditions.

What Is Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT ®) ?
Storz Medical was the first company to successfully alter the physical properties of shockwaves, enabling their effective use for the treatment of cellulite, 3D body contouring and shaping and facial aesthetics- also known as Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT®) or Lipotripsy.
By improving blood flow to the skin Storz Medical devices help cells flush away unwanted fat through the bodies natural waste elimination process. AWT® Lipotripsy™ has been shown to reduce the effects of cellulite and reduce circumference around legs, hips and arms, with improvements seen within as little as two to three weeks and excellent alternative to surgical liposuction. Get rid of clients unwanted lumps, bumps and cellulite and achieve a smoother silhouette.
Applied to the face, AWT® Lipotripsy™ can also stimulate fibroblasts deep within the skin to promote collagen and elastin production and cell renewal, resulting in a firmer and smoother complexion with reduced wrinkle depth after only one treatment.
The power of targeted acoustic waves helps to eliminate the factors that cause uneven surfaces of the skin, leading to a considerable improvement in the skin appearance, including scars and stretch marks. The waves enhance micro-circulation and oxygen supply to the affected areas, this results in an increased blood supply and removal of excess fluid. Acoustic wave therapy also an excellent combination therapy, used to prep the skin before other aesthetic treatments such as HIFU, Fat Freezing and Laser Facials, dramatically improving results from the other treatments your clinic offers.
The D-Actor® 100
Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT) application works by passing radial waves through the skin with enough power, where they activate the fat cells and increase blood flow. This technology allows the body to stimulate fat breakdown, collagen synthesis and lymphatic drainage within the patient’s targeted areas.Quiet and dependable, the ergonomic design of the D-ACTOR® 100 ensures an efficient and non-tiring treatment without the need for medical intervention. For convenience, all the main operating elements have been integrated into the hand piece: both frequency and energy levels can be adjusted directly via selector buttons by the orthopaedist

BEFORE AWT ®
Enlarged fat cells bulge upwards towards the skin surface. The inelastic vertical connective tissue fibres do not stretch along with the surrounding adipose tissue. The typical orange peel appearance becomes visible on the skin surface. Local blood circulation is significantly reduced.
DURING AWT ®
Acoustic waves are introduced into the body. The connective tissue can relax, and the firmness of the epidermis can increase. Blood circulation in the tissue is significantly enhanced and enlarged cells can be reduced to their normal size.
AFTER AWT ®
Skin and connective tissue can regain their natural elasticity. A visible and long-lasting improvement of the texture of the skin surface can be achieved
